COMMERCIAL ASSESSMENT · July 2026
Woking FC
A levelUP® digital commercial assessment quantifying the cost of inaction and identifying the potential to close the gap.
SECTION 00 — INTRO
INTRO
levelUP® offers commercial support to ambitious clubs. The following is an assessment of Woking FC's commercial potential with a specific focus on digital sponsorship optimisation, assessed in the context of a National League club entering 2026/27 with a strong partner line-up, a considerable quantity of season tickets already sold, and one of the richest heritage narratives in non-league football.
SECTION 01 — WHERE YOU CURRENTLY SIT
STATUS QUO
Estimated annual digital opportunity cost
£128k–£265k
This is the incremental annual commercial income Woking FC are leaving on the table by not attaching a digital layer to many of their most significant commercial relationships. The assessment highlights the gaps, identifies the potential, and recommends work streams to bridge them in collaboration with existing staff.
Woking FC are not a typical National League club. Three-time FA Trophy winners who have never lost at Wembley, and the club behind statistically the most improbable FA Cup result in over 50 years. Playing their home matches at the Laithwaite Community Stadium under a naming rights renewal running to 2028/29, and with significant revenue derived from kit sponsorship deals via Nuffield Health (front of shirt), CloudTech24 (back of shirt), Seymours (sleeve) and Shorts Group (shorts). The commercial momentum is real, with the website confirming kit sponsorship deals are sold out for the 26/27 season.
However, the digital product layer is visibly absent. With 25K Instagram followers, 17K Facebook followers (2K talking about the club), an active TikTok, a separate Academy and Women's team channels, Woking have a broader digital footprint than most clubs at this level. Partners are buying logos, and the digital audiences those logos reach are neither measured nor reported. The gap between digital performance and commercial income is the entire opportunity this assessment is designed to close.
What exists vs. what is being sold
CURRENT DIGITAL ASSET AUDIT
The following table maps Woking FC's existing digital assets against whether they are currently structured as commercial products. The gap between column 2 and column 3 is the opportunity.
| Digital asset | Exists? | Sold commercially? | Current status & gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instagram (@wokingfc) | Yes: 25K followers / 6.8K posts | Ad hoc mentions only | 25K is competitive for the National League. Content is active across match day, squad news and partner announcements. However, no sponsor visibly receives contracted post frequency or contracted content schedules. Every kit deal promoted on the website mentions digital channels, but none are visibly abundant, with the exception of a recent LeBom mention. |
| Yes: 17K followers / 2,363 talking about this | No structured product | A high 'talking about' ratio signals a genuinely engaged community skewing 35-55, which is premium for key partners including Nuffield Health, CloudTech24 and Laithwaite Financial Services. However the channels is not visibly packaged commercially, and would be of most value inside a multi-platform bundle. | |
| TikTok (@wokingfcofficial) | Yes: 137K likes, active content presence | No | Having an active TikTok at this level is above the peer average. But with no presenting partner, no contracted content programme, nor monthly performance reporting, the channel is missing its commercial objective. The channel could be the most immediately sellable new product in the portfolio, aiming at partners with younger demographic audiences. |
| Academy Instagram (@wokingfcacademy) | Yes: 8k followers / 1.6K posts | No | A separately managed Academy channel covering the U9s–U21s pathway with a distinct audience of players, parents, coaches and the local football community. There is no dedicated academy commercial partner, with potential partners including sports science, education and recruitment brands as natural fits. |
| Women's team Instagram (@wokingfcwomen) | Yes: 2K followers / 817 posts | No | A separate women's team channel also inspires potential partnerships way from the men's team, whether digital or otherwise, especially given women's football sponsorship is one of the fastest-growing category in UK sport. The follower base is modest but a women's team digital partner package is immediately sellable. |
| Woking FC website | Yes: Functional club website | Not sold as a digital media asset | A functional, clean site with clear navigation, a video streaming hub, an e-commerce shop and a sponsorship page with package descriptions. However, there is limited editorial content with sponsor integration, no partner testimonials, nor digital media inventory. Not currently being sold as a digital media asset. |
| YouTube | Yes: 7.5K subscribers / 2.6K videos posted | No | An under-leveraged social channel with limited content series. There is no visible partner integration across the channel, even though there are simple branding opportunities across frequent content types including highlights & interviews. An immediately sellable property. |
| Laithwaite Community Stadium naming | Yes: Renewal confirmed to 2028/29 | Physical signage only | Woking's longest-standing commercial relationship covering in-stadium signage including the main entrance. However with no visible social mentions outside of branding within imagery, this could be the most urgent single digital re-pricing conversation. |
| Nuffield Health (front-of-shirt) | Yes: 1yr extension confirmed for 2026/27 season | Physical + values-led | A health and wellness brand on the shirt of an sports club is a good fit, and aimed at a specific geography & demographic. Digital deliverables including audience profiling and branded posts would give Nuffield measurable local marketing ROI to enhance the current deal. |
| CloudTech24 (back-of-shirt + training kit) | Yes: new placement for 2026/27, training kit partnership extended for two seasons | Physical only | This kit placement is an extension to their existing club partnership. Given the nature of their business, digital deliverables should be a non-negotiable. Their target customers are reachable via LinkedIn, the corporate hospitality database and the business network the club explicitly aims to connect. A monthly LinkedIn post is the most actionable deliverable. |
| Matchday hospitality / VIP Lounge | Yes: refurbished VIP Lounge, hospitality packages | Physical packages only | The club already positions hospitality as a B2B networking product as 'a catalyst for local businesses to connect'. Adding a digital wrapper (pre-match LinkedIn post naming corporate guests, post-match email, post-event reach report) converts a catering product into a measurable B2B marketing product. |
BENCHMARK: WHERE WOKING FC SITS VS. COMPARISON CLUBS
We have benchmarked leveraging comparisons across the National League (and South) and a cross-sport Surrey club. Woking's heritage and commercial relationships are above the National League average and he benchmark should reflect that.
| Club / tier | Digital spon. % | Key digital asset | What Woking FC can learn |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gateshead FC (National League) | 15–22% | Digital deliverables built into partner packages as a defined product category incuding social posts, audience data and reach reports contracted into deals. | The clearest National League digital commercial benchmark. The lesson is architecture: define digital deliverables as line items in every commercial deal rather than informal add-ons offered at no cost. |
| Aldershot Town FC (National League) | 10–18% | Supporter loyalty scheme with digital benefits and a structured corporate hospitality package across the Hampshire/Surrey catchment. | Aldershot compete for the same pool of GU-postcode businesses. Their structured corporate hospitality package is the direct commercial peer, but Woking's heritage and national media moments give a premium positioning Aldershot cannot match. |
| Dorking Wanderers FC (National League South) | 25–40% | Global Network subscription at £299/yr, OLBG principal partnership and 500M+ annual content views due to the 'Dorking Uncovered' documentary. | The local ambition benchmark. Dorking started from a position not unlike Woking's, but the difference is a content-first commercial architecture built around their documentary. Woking's heritage is a more dramatic story, but the packaging is not there yet. |
| Harlequins RFC (Premiership Rugby) | Cross-sport | Tiered sponsor packaging with digital activation built into every tier. | Harlequins compete for the same Surrey / south west London corporate sponsor pool. What a brand pays for at The Stoop in terms of digital deliverables (audience data, social content) is exactly what should be offered at Woking. |
| Woking FC (National League) | ~8–12% (est.) | Laithwaite naming (physical), Nuffield Health shirt (physical), CloudTech24 back-of-shirt (physical). Yet socially active across multiple channels & audiences. | Baseline. Woking's commercial relationships are above the National League average in quality and longevity but the digital packaging of those relationships is below what it should be. |
ESTIMATED ANNUAL DIGITAL OPPORTUNITY COST
The opportunity cost above is not primarily about finding new partners. It is about re-evaluating and re-pricing the major partner relationships signed or renewed in 2026 to include a paid-for digital layer. Currently Laithwaite, Nuffield Health, CloudTech24 and Surrey Sports Park all receive physical placement only. with limited visible contracted social mentions. These deals are currently buying logo placement priced as a signage deal. That same logo placement with contracted monthly social posts, quarterly reach reports and audience data is priced as a digital media partnership, which is typically 2–3x the value. The gap between the two is the most obvious opportunity in the short- and mid-term.
*This figure encompasses three components: (a) the estimated value of digital deliverables that current partners are not receiving and therefore not paying for; (b) the revenue from entirely new digital-only products (TikTok presenting partner, Surrey Sports Park training ground series, the Cards History heritage series, Academy and 400 Club partners); and (c) the re-pricing uplift achievable on the Laithwaite, Nuffield Health and CloudTech24 relationships if structured digital products were built and sold. Incremental on an estimated current digital income base of £30k–£50k.

ESTIMATED ANNUAL DIGITAL OPPORTUNITY COST
£128k – £265k
Conservative to optimistic. Incremental on an estimated current digital income base of £30k–£50k. The six example packages alone represent £64k–£143k of that total.
In summary
A fully activated digital commercial programme could generate £128k–£265k of additional annual revenue for Woking FC, from zero new infrastructure investment, using only existing channels, existing audience, and the existing partner portfolio (Laithwaite, Nuffield Health, CloudTech24 and Surrey Sports Park), all repackaged with structure and measurability.
CONCLUSION
OUR FINDINGS
The above is an assessment of intel which we have found in the public domain, and could obviously vary from the sponsor agreements in place currently or any renewal conversations.
Woking FC enter the 2026/27 season with a strong commercial partner line-up including Laithwaite Financial Services, Nuffield Health, CloudTech24 and Surrey Sports Park. Four significant relationships, all signed or renewed inside a six-week window. But not one of them has a visible digital deliverable, while the club carries a reasonably strong social audience with high engagement ratios, and individual channels for their academy and women's team products. Which equates to a much broader digital footprint than most clubs at this level, but very little of it is measured or reported to partners. The gap is structural rather than commercial. Digital sits at an estimated 8–12% of sponsorship income against 15–22% at Gateshead and 25–40% at Dorking Wanderers. The first three packages: Laithwaite, Nuffield and CloudTech24 as digital extensions are conversations with existing partners that can start this week, require no new selling, and represent an estimated £38k–£80k of incremental income from relationships already secured. The 'Cards History' heritage series and the TikTok presenting partner are then the next natural chapter to support the club's commercial growth.
